Born in Sacramento, CA, Julie Kagawa moved to Hawaii at the age of nine. There she learned many things: how to bodyboard, that teachers scream when you put centipedes in their desks and that writing stories in math class is a fantastic way to kill time. Her teachers were glad to see her graduate.
Julie now lives in Louisville, KY, with her husband and a plethora of pets. She still laughs whenever she sees a centipede.

Find out what Iron Fey creator Julie Kagawa is up to now....
After THE LOST PRINCE drops in November, Julie will unveil the second book in her much-praised Blood of Eden series: THE ETERNITY CURE, due out in May 2013.
In Blood of Eden, Julie explores a dystopian future in which most of humanity has been wiped out by the insidious Red Lung virus.
Most survivors cower within walled cities, serving as blood cattle for the ruling vampires. Outside the walls lurk the terrifying rabids: mindless, mutated vampires—killing machines.
THE ETERNITY CURE continues the story of new-made vampire Allison Sekemoto as she searches for her mentor Kanin, who has been kidnapped and tortured. Along the way, Allie and her companions will face their most ruthless opponent yet—a strain of Red Lung that kills human and vampire alike.
Currently, Julie is working on the next book in The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten series: THE TRAITOR SON.
